Past leach line replacement surgeries in Tucson

Leach Line Repair - Leach Field Repair

    They are the same thing…

Septic Systems in Tucson and Southern Arizona typically last 20–30 years based on a number of factors including soil content, home occupancy, nearby trees etc…

The NUMBER ONE reason I get called for a septic leach field repair is due to mesquite tree roots. If you have mesquite trees within 50 feet of your septic system, it is just a matter of time before they invade the tank, distribution box and the leach field. The roots are attracted to the water and they will follow it to the source, and it’s called a Leach Line Repair or leach line replacement. Infiltrator chambers are a perfect remedy for root invasion situations.

    What’s the Surgeon’s remedy?

A typical leach line replacem leach line replacement consists of starting at the outlet pipe of the tank and creating a new distribution box with clean out to surface for root killer, and 2 leach lines using infiltrator chambers. Chambers have been widely accepted and designed by civil engineers in Tucson for decades. They are an improvement to the old “Rock & Pipe” method that has been used previously.  Typically start to finish time for a leach line repair is usually 4-5 days depending on working area and soil content.

This is a leach line repair using leach rock and perforated pipe.

    Some situations require different remedies

Unique situations in Tucson will arise while diagnosing a leach line repair to use something besides Infiltrator Chambers, usually it’s the leach rock and pipe procedure for maximum effectiveness. Those are real hard areas where it’s neccesary to get under caliche layers.
